BRING On 2021

What a year it has been. I know most of us are happy to say goodbye to 2020 but we have been reflecting this week on what Shellharbour Physio has achieved over the last 12 months and I feel we are finishing on a high.

WHAT’s BEEN HAPPENING?

NEW LOCATION

Shop 7/6 Benson Ave, Shellharbour City Centre NSW 2529

We have moved to our BRAND NEW location on Benson Avenue in Shellharbour City Centre. If you haven’t had a chance already; come in and check out the new clinic. It’s pretty awesome.

The feedback from our patients has been amazing and we appreciate your continued support this year.

New PHYSIOTHERAPISTS

The Shellharbour Physio team has expanded! We have welcomed 2 new staff members this year - Brooklan Frkovic and Toula Andronicos. What an addition these two have been to our team. Recently graduating, Brooklan and Toula are both extremely up to date with the current evidence and physiotherapy practices. The physiotherapy world is always changing and a big part of our job is to stay relevant with contemporary treatment and exercise techniques.

WOMEN’S HEALTH & PELVIC FLOOR

Shellharbour Physio is now working in collaboration with Calm & Connection Physiotherapy. Jules Berger is our WOMEN’S HEALTH & PELVIC FLOOR physiotherapist that is working 1 day per week from our Shellharbour clinic. Jules has completed post graduate studies in pelvic floor, bladder and bowel dysfunction, leakage or weakness.

Jules’ colleague Brittany will be taking over early in the new year!

KIRRILLY’S A MUM!

Kirrilly Bleakley became a MUM. Our resident paediatric physio welcomed her first baby in May 2020. She has now returned from maternity leave and is working 2 days per week. We have all missed her crazy antics so make sure you give the clinic a call to book an appointment for 2021.

ATHLETE SCREENing

IMG_2023.jpg

Our athlete screening day ran by our Sports Physiotherapist Mel and Exercise Physiologist Carol was a popular addition to the year.

Athlete screening is now a regular appointment available to all our patients. This screen involves a number of mobility, strength and functional tests used to identify any deficits an individual may possess in relation to their particular sport.

Carol our Sports Scientist prescribes a specific rehabilitation program to target these barriers identified in order to enhance patient performance and potential in their fields!

TELEHEALTH Appointments

During our 6 week closure we provided our patients with telehealth services to keep them going throughout lockdown.

We were pleasantly surprised by the response to online treatments and how well our patients and staff members adapted to this new patient consultation.

MERCHANDISE

Shellharbour Physio has a full range of merchandise available for all our supporters!

Our online shop has been a popular addition to the website, giving patients access to our large range of hoodies, jumpers, t-shirts, tights, crop, hats and so much more!

Don’t forget you can also purchase exercise equipment such as foam rollers and spikey balls through the online shop.

COVID-19 Precautions

In light of the recent increase of COVID-19 cases in Sydney, we are still providing face to face services as Shellharbour Council is not apart of the Greater Sydney region. With excellent hygiene and social distancing protocols in place, we believe we are able to safely provide our professional service without risking the health of our patients and/or staff members. With that in mind, we may see the return of masks in the coming weeks dependent upon the advice from the NSW Government and Australian Physiotherapy Association.

We would like to wish all our patients a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Shellharbour Physiotherapy is closed for public holidays and we will be operating out of our Shellharbour clinic between Christmas and New Year. Don’t wait till 2021 to get your aches and pains sorted. We are here for you 356 days of the year.
